In the past I have used the conversion tool without any problems, but lately if I upload a list and submit to the conversion tool the progress bar goes to 30% and then hangs there indefinitely and never moves. This happens even if I just put in a small number of entries (say 20 or 100), and it happens for multiple kinds of ID conversions. Today, for example, it happened trying to convert Affy exon probe numbers to Entrez ID's. The Affy numbers themselves are recognized without a problem if I simply perform an enrichment analysis on them directly; it is just the conversion tool that has been problematic. I get the same freezing issue with other conversions. I tried two browsers (safari and Chrome) and I tried deleting my previous search history. I also tried excluding DAVID from the pop-up blocker. None of those helped. Suggestions?

Thank you for all of your detective work and useful information.
There are two paths for submitting ids to the Conversion Tool:
1) Upload your list of ids, choose the identifier type (“AFFYMETRIX_EXON_ID”) when known, list type (“Gene List”) and submit and then run the Conversion Tool. This is the best path when the id that you are converting from is known since DAVID can go directly from your original id type to the id type that you would like to convert to. 2) Upload your list of ids, choose “Not Sure” for the identifier type if not known, list type (“Gene List”) and submit. You will automatically be taken to Conversion Tool to select what you would like to convert your list to. This path can take quite a bit longer as DAVID will search all id types for matches to your list and will give you choices to convert from anything that it finds.
It seems that you have found a path where we should be giving the user a message to upload a list first but do not. I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you greatly for reporting this. We will work to add a message for this use case in order to avoid the issue going forward by directing the user to first upload their list through one of the two paths above.
Regards, Brad

Hello DAVID!!
I am getting this problem as well. Hanging at the 30% progress bar. I'm copy/pasting Uniprot IDs (~350 of them) and trying to get Refseq_protein outputs on homo s stuff, selecting gene list yadda yadda, and it just hangs, both on Chrome and the other web browser Edge. No luck.
Any ideas?
