Dear DAVID database staff,
Hello I'm having trouble uploading my locus tag list. Now I'm studying Mycolicibacterium smegmatis and the standard strain is Mycolicibacterium smegmatis mc2 155. I usually use locus tags starting with MSMEG_, but this changed a few years ago to locus tags starting with MSMEG_RS. Locus tag starting with MSMEG_RS were converted into locus tag starting with MSMEG_ and analyzed, because locus tag starting with MSMEG_RS were not analyzed in the DAVID database. However, NCBI's Mycolicibacterium smegmatis standard strain was recently changed to Mycolicibacterium smegmatis FDAARGOS_679, which no longer allows the use of locus tags starting with MSMEG_ or MSMEG_RS in the DAVID system. Of course I know there is a locus tag conversion tool in the david database. However, 100% conversion was not possible using the david database's locus tag conversion tool. We attribute this to the many differences between the MC2 155 and FDAARGOS_679 strains. Since we are not using the FDAARGOS_679 strain, we want to run the assay with a locus tag starting with MSMEG_ or MSMEG_RS. How can this be possible?
Sincerely,
EM Ko
